The French Riviera enjoys almost 300 days of sunshine
a year, and Antibes is known as the only coastal town to have retained
an authentic village atmosphere. This combination is unbeatable for
an all year round holiday destination. There are numerous cobbled streets
leading into the centre of the old town, characterised by its famous
medieval ramparts that overlook the marina and the old port area. There
are specialised markets that include antiques and bric-a brac. One of
the most attractive is the Cours Massena covered food market that is
located about 5 minutes walk away from the apartment. On market day
there are stalls selling everything from herbs and spices, locally grown
fresh fruit and vegetables, and regional cheeses. In the oldest square,
the Place du Revely, there are signs of the towns' ancient Roman beginnings.
There are several good beaches in the area, including
our favourite the Plage de la Gravette, located only 5 minutes walk
away, and beside the marina. The nearby Picasso museum and other cultural
attractions are well worth a visit. The railway and bus stations are
also within a short walking distance. (Hiring a car is not always necessary)
The apartment is located within a small new-build
complex, at the edge of the old town and less than a two minute walk
from the marina. There is secure basement parking.
The apartment is bright and airy, and is very well finished. It is located
on the third floor, with lift access. The living room has a comfortable
leather settee, a flat screen TV with DVD player and selection of films
is available. The dining table seats four. There is access to the balcony
from both the living room and bedroom. The bedroom has a double bed,
and in-built wardrobe. There is a fold out single bed, and an aero-bed
for children. There is a well equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave.
The shower room is fully tiled, and well finished. The apartment overlooks
a quiet street, and to the east, the lush gardens of an adjacent luxury
holiday complex.
